Khoi Hung

Welcome to Khoi Hung, a fusion of French, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisines, located in Garden Grove, CA. This restaurant offers a range of unique dishes with options for takeout, reservations, and limited vegetarian choices. As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of sampling the delectable offerings at Khoi Hung and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed.

From the crispy xoi ga chien gion to the tender filet mignon with garlic noodles, each dish showcased a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The xoi ga chien gion, with its coconutty xoi and boneless, crispy chicken, was a delightful surprise. The filet mignon, on the other hand, was incredibly tender and flavorful, reminiscent of home-cooked meals.

One standout dish that left a lasting impression was the bo luc lac, or shaken beef, served over garlic noodles. The beef was incredibly tender, infused with rich flavors, and paired perfectly with the fragrant garlic noodles. It was a true culinary delight that I will undoubtedly return for.

As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but appreciate the authenticity and attention to detail in every dish. The menu, encased in a glass tabletop, reflects the dedication of the Vietnamese owners to honoring their culinary heritage. From light and subtle flavors to complex umami broth-based dishes, Khoi Hung truly embodies the spirit of Vietnamese cooking.

Whether it's the mom and pop feel of the restaurant, the quick and friendly service, or the generous portions at affordable prices, Khoi Hung is a hidden gem worth exploring. So, if you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience that goes beyond the traditional pho, Khoi Hung is the place to be.

Wow, we came for the xoi ga chien gion and it did not disappoint! The dipping sauce was so unique and addicting. Chicken was boneless and extra crispy. The xoi was coconutty and shaped like hashbrowns. I was in crispy chewy heaven! The owner said steak is their specialty, so we have to come back to try that next time. :)

I just tried the filet minion with garlic noodles. The meat was so tender and flavorful it reminds me of the way my mom makes it and I love the salad with the vinaigrette sauce. It was refreshing and I loved that it was two meals in one salad with beef or garlic noodles with beef. The restaurant was also very clean with clear menu and service was very responsive.

This place was delicious! It felt like having an authentic home cooked meal. The service was great, our waitress was very nice. It's a small restaurant but when we arrived it was full, we knew it was going to be good. Tried the egg rolls, shrimp fried rice frog legs, and shaken beef over garlic noodles. The beef was very tender and the noodles so flavorful. The frog legs were crispy and had so much meat they looked like chicken legs. The whole garlic pieces were so good and perfectly roasted. Definitely will be coming back here.

Restaurants like these are a dying art. Its so hard to find an authentic Vietnamese restaurant that really honors the spirit of Vietnamese cooking. Ironically, it does not serve pho, but let this be your gateway into the dishes of Vietnam. This restaurant champions light and subtle flavors, it feels nourishing with all the veggies, they have the correct toppings for each dish, broth based dishes like soups and noodles have great umami, complex flavors and good clarity. The menu is encased in the glass table top, its ran by Vietnamese owners, and I'm confident if I ordered everything on the menu it would be good
